Be Kind

In leadership, it is better to be kind than nice. Being kind includes being vulnerable, transparent and in doing so, holding others and ourselves accountable for the commitments we have made. Being kind can be painful, as it carries consequences with the truth it requires. Being nice can tempt us to avoid the hard truths that need to be said. Being nice can be more about us and how we are perceived, while being kind is focused on the other, the job at hand and our responsibilities to something greater than
how others might perceive us in the moment.
